Amazing Amsterdam!!!!

We did the quick drive from Bruges to Amsterdam and got settled in to our hotel.  We had rented a boutique apartment right in the heart of the city.  We met the owners there, and he let us in and showed us what we needed to know.  The place was cute, with a little kitchenette and two beds.  We asked the owner where the bicycle rental shop was, and headed there.  We rented a bike with a basket for the kids and another regular bicycle.  The only way to get around there!!!!  I knew very little about Amsterdam before going, but it's by far been our favorite overall city!

We just hopped on our bikes and rode and rode and rode.  It was so fun, the kids were in heaven!  We would stop and grab a bite or stop to see the canals.  Flowers were everywhere.  The people watching was also amazing.

The next day, we headed straight for the Pancake spot I had read about.  Jack is clearly a fan of breakfast food.

That afternoon we headed for the Heineken Brewery.  We had heard it was fun, so decided to give it a shot.

Later, we took the last canal cruise before sunset.  The kids wanted to ride the boats, so we opted for a covered one.  I don't think Scout would jump, but I would not put it past her.  She actually ended up sleeping through the whole hour ride.

We had some Turkish take out food later and went back to the apartment to eat it.  We were wiped out from riding miles and miles all day!

The next morning, we got up and headed to the Anne Frank House.  Wow.  Definitely a crazy experience.  I highly recommend it.  Luckily, it was a Monday.  The line was long, but not as bad as a weekend.

It was nearly time to head out.  We returned our bikes (Russell was trying to figure out if we could just take this one home hahah.)

If you haven't ever been, you need to go.  Amsterdam is a wonderful city!  We will definitely go back before we move back to the States.
